WHERE IT STARTED
After experiencing the vibrant food and beer culture overseas, two Brisbane childhood friends, Adrian and Marc, found themselves back in their hometown wanting to recreate this culture in their own backyard. After a few beers on the dunes of beautiful Moreton Island, looking back towards Brisbane, a Green Beacon was spotted, an idea then sprouted, and Brisbane’s first craft brewery was born.
Armed with the traditional brewing skills handed down by Adrian’s Welsh mother-inlaw, the boys set a course for their next adventure and began a brewing onsite in their Teneriffe warehouse, opening doors to Green Beacon on Australia Day in 2013. With an expanding range of flavourful yet smashable beers, Green Beacon quickly established themselves as a world-class leader in Brisbane’s craft beer scene.
